Dr. Perpetua Onyinye Ezeji a lecturer in the department of Social Studies and Civic Education of Alvan Ikoku Federal University of Education, Owerri is a sociologist, educator, and faith-based development advocate with over two decades of experience in academia and social mobilization. She earned her BSc in Sociology from Ahmadu Bello University, Zaria, in 1992, and subsequently completed the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) program in Owerri, Imo State, serving with the Nigerian Television Authority (NTA), Aba, as an advert and sales representative.
Following her NYSC, Dr. Ezeji joined Campus Crusade for Christ (now CRU), a global Christian organization operating in over 150 countries. She served in various leadership roles, rising from field staff to campus director and international trainer. In these roles, she oversaw ministry operations across multiple universities in Southeastern Nigeria and facilitated training for new staff from across West Africa. She was also the founding editor of Vineyard Reports, a regional ministry magazine.
Dr. Ezeji later worked with the Onitsha Ecclesiastical Province of the Catholic Church in partnership with Misereor Germany, contributing as a social mobilizer to projects that provided clean drinking water to rural communities in Enugu State. She also edited and published a Christian lifestyle magazine titled Glory and Virtue.
Since 2010, Dr. Ezeji has served as a lecturer at Alvan Ikoku Federal University of Education, Owerri. She holds an MSc in Medical Sociology (2016) and a Ph.D. in Political Sociology, both from the University of Nigeria, Nsukka. Her scholarly work has been published in numerous local and international journals, with several of her papers widely cited—one of which has recorded over 40,000 reads and more than 20 citations on Google Scholar.
Dr. Ezeji is married to Professor Kelechi Ezeji, and they are blessed with three grown children. She is widely travelled, and her interests include music, writing, and exploring new cultures.
